Mr. Smith started his career at William Doyle Galleries in New York City. In 1994, he joined the Bank of New York as an assistant vice president, and in 1997 joined US Trust’s private bank as vice president. In 2000 he joined First Republic Bank, working in the bank’s trust company and earning the title of senior managing director. In 2006, he rejoined the private banking team in New York and Greenwich, Connecticut, and in 2012 was asked to open First Republic’s new office in Palm Beach, Florida. In December of 2017, he joined the Fieldpoint Private team in Palm Beach.
Mr. Smith has a bachelor’s from Middlebury College, a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning from New York University, and MBA from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business. He also completed all three levels of the Cannon Trust School, earning a CTFA Designation.
Mr. Smith has served on numerous community and professional boards, including The Development Committee for Silver Hill Hospital, Ability Beyond Disability, The Museum of Arts and Design Professional Advisory Committee, The Lake Waccabuc Association, Board Chair of Palm Beach and Martin County Big Brothers Big sisters and as President of The Old Guard Society of Palm Beach Golfers. Additionally, he served on the boards of the Estate Planning Council for the New York City and Westchester County chapters.
He is a member of the Old Marsh Golf Club, The Palm Beach Yacht Club, The Old Guard Society of Palm Beach Golfers, The University Club of New York, The Rockaway Hunting Club, and The Waccabuc Country Club.
